Tropical storm Egay affects about 48,000 in Philippines

The Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has said that tropical storm Egay has hit 48,307 people in Cordillera, Mimaropa and Ilocos regions, reports GMA News.

Damage to agriculture and infrastructure has been pegged at 6.05 million Philippine pesos ($134,310), said the NDRRMC.

Ninety-one houses have been damaged and at least four have been destroyed due to the storm.

At least 14 road sections and bridges have been closed to traffic, said the NDRRMC.
