Foreign contractors in Zambia urged to insure businesses locally

Yamfwa Mukanga, Zambia's minister of transport, works, supply and communications, has urged foreign contractors in the country to insure their businesses locally, Zambia Daily Mail reported.

"It is the ministry's view that various foreign contractors should insure locally so that the local insurers can benefit from government projects," said Mr. Mukanga. The government is aware that some foreign contractors insure their businesses in their respective nations, taking away revenue from the Zambian insurance sector, added Mr. Mukanga.
