Floods, landslides cause huge losses in China

Floods and landslides in four Chinese provinces have claimed several lives and left many missing, reported Xinhua.

The publicity office of Shangcheng County in Henan province said that heavy rains have affected almost 800 people and led to the collapse of 100 houses.

Direct economic losses have been pegged at 305 million Chinese yuan ($49.1 million).

Floods have resulted in economic losses worth CNY 900 million ($144.9 million) in Shaanxi province.
