The Professional Liability Underwriting Society on Thursday said it has appointed Robbie Thompson executive director, effective July 29.
He will take over from Derek Hazeltine, whose last day is June 26, a PLUS spokesman said.
In his new role at the nonprofit association, Mr. Thompson brings a track record of leading associations with a focus on member value and engagement, and is dedicated to working with corporate sponsors, the spokesman said.
Previously, Mr. Thompson was president and CEO of the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas in Bismarck, North Dakota, and a vice president and general counsel for the Members Cooperative Credit Union before that, according to the PLUS statement.
Mr. Thompson will be based in Minneapolis, where PLUS is headquartered.

Mr. Skarzynski, who specializes in directors and officers liability insurance and other forms of professional liability coverage, is chairman of law firm Skarzynski Black L.L.C. in New York.
