A password management company reported a data breach that compromised an undisclosed number of email addresses and password reminders, among other data.
Suspicious activity was discovered and blocked last week, Joe Siegrist, CEO and co-founder of Fairfax, Virginia-based Marvasol Inc., which does business as LastPass, said Monday in a statement. The company said it has found no evidence that encrypted data was taken, nor that LastPass accounts were accessed.
“We are confident that our encryption measures are sufficient to protect the vast majority of users,” said the statement.
Mr. Siegrist said the company is notifying all its users via email of the security incident.
