U.K. terrorism insurance pool appoints nonexecutive director

Pool Reinsurance Co. Ltd., the U.K.-government-guaranteed terrorism insurance backstop, has appointed Hiscox Ltd. CEO Bronek Masojada as nonexecutive director.
Mr. Masojada, who was deputy chairman of Lloyd's of London between 2001 and 2007 and currently is a member of the board of the London-based Association of British Insurers, immediately takes up the role, Pool Re said Tuesday in a statement.
Pool Re recently announced a series of modernization measures.
“Pool Re has evolved dramatically in the past two years. The continued development of this excellent example of public/private partnership requires innovative thinking and input from across the market,” said Anthony Latham, chairman of Pool Re, in the statement.
