Slim Chaker, Tunisia's Minister of Finance, has said that the insurance penetration in the country is at 1.9%, compared with the global average of 7%, reported Asia Insurance Review.
The country's insurance sector has a promising future, said Mr. Chaker, adding that insurers must go beyond the traditional insurance lines of business for the growth. Mr. Chaker said that increasing the competitiveness of the insurance sector is one of the goals of the recent economic reforms in the country.
