BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Business Insurance announced Wednesday that Bonnie Sawdey, vice president of human resources at Crawford & Co. in Atlanta, is the 2015 Benefit Manager of the Year®.

Ms. Sawdey joined the claims management company 25 years ago as a payroll clerk and worked her way up to her current position, where she has played a major role in shaping Crawford's employee benefits offerings.

Business Insurance also named Kari A. Aikins, assistant director of total compensation at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, and Marty Webb, vice president of benefits at AT&T Inc. in Dallas, to the 2015 Benefit Management Honor Roll®.

Ms. Aikins has worked at Western Kentucky University since 2007 and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the university's benefits plan.

A long-time AT&T benefits and finance expert, Mr. Webb has played a pivotal role in its benefits strategy, including spearheading its move to cover Medicare-eligible retirees through a private health care exchange.

The honorees were selected by an independent panel of judges composed of last year's winners and benefits industry professionals.

Profiles of the winners will appear in the June 22 edition of Business Insurance.
