Allianz S.E. Reinsurance chief executive Amer Ahmed has said that the firm has been "working towards centralizing reinsurance" over the last few years and "we've pretty much reached that goal," Artemis.bm reported.
Mr. Ahmed said the transformation is aimed at moving away from a pure reinsurance focus to managing a portfolio. Mr. Ahmed also spoke about the use of insurance-linked securities, saying that nearly one-third of the "total capacity we buy" is "what I would classify as non-traditional, so cat bond, collateralized, swaps or multi-years, so over time it's found its place in the programme."
