Research has found that 170,000 properties in the Netherlands' province of Groningen are at risk of damage from earthquake, DutchNews.nl reports.
The research said that the properties include 152,000 private homes and 18,000 other structures.
It would take 27 years before the reinforcement work of these properties is completed, the research said.
Dutch oil and gas firm Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V. has purchased 13 properties in the province since September 2013, said newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad.
