A recent survey by A.M. Best Co. Inc. has shown that insurers and reinsurers continue to decrease their return on equity targets as they become less confident in their ability to maintain ROE levels, Artemis.bm reported.
Overall, 74% of those surveyed said they now aim for an ROE of 10% or less. A year ago, 49% were targeting that ROE level. Expense efficiency is becoming more important now, given the forecasts for lower ROEs, reported Artemis.bm.
