Reinsurer IRB's net income totals $41.6 million in Q1

Brazilian reinsurer IRB Brasil Resseguros S.A. said that its net income totaled 130 million Brazilian reals ($41.6 million) in the first quarter of 2015, reported BNamericas.

The reinsurer said that its written premiums amounted to BRL 676 million ($216.4 million) during the quarter, up from BRL 343 million ($109.8 million) for the same period in 2014.

Premiums written outside the country totaled BRL 163 million ($52.1 million) during the period.
