BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Hartford launches disability benefits app

Property/casualty insurer and group benefits provider Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. on Tuesday launched a mobile application that allows users covered by the firm's group disability plans to manage their claims.

The “My Benefits” app allows covered employees to start a short-term disability claim, update personal data and monitor the status of a claim, including payment information, the Hartford, Connecticut-based firm said in a statement.

The app also includes definitions and details of benefits to help users navigate through the claims process, Hartford said.

“Our focus on ability, not limitations, has driven our pioneering approach to disability insurance for more than two decades,” John Urankar, Hartford's senior vice president of group benefits and workers compensation claims, said in the statement. “This app is our latest resource to empower consumers and help them return to an active, productive life after an unexpected injury or illness.”

Hartford's benefits app is available at no cost from Apple Inc.'s App Store or Google Inc.'s Google Play store.
