Tokio Millennium Re names new CEO

Stephan Ruoff will lead Tokio Millennium Re A.G. as CEO, the reinsurance unit of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd. announced Wednesday.

Mr. Ruoff, who is based at the firm’s headquarters in Zurich, replaces Tatsuhiko Hoshina, who is now vice chairman and a board member, Tokio Re said in a statement.

Most recently, Mr. Ruoff was chief underwriting officer of Tokio Re, and prior to that, he was CEO of the firm’s Zurich branch, according to the statement.

“I am delighted to be leading TMR into an exciting new phase of development,” Mr. Ruoff said in the statement. “We are moving forward with a clear strategic plan in place as we continue laying down the tracks for success into the future.”
