Strong earthquakes hit Tonga, Samoa

Tonga and Samoa have been hit by strong earthquakes, The Indian Express reported.

A 6.4-magnitude quake hit 109 kilometers northeast of Tonga's Hihifo district followed by a magnitude 6.5 tremor that hit 99 kilometers northeast of Hihifo, said the U.S. Geological Survey. Quakes were felt throughout most of the islands in Samoa, an official said, adding that no damage has been reported. The quakes did not trigger a tsunami threat, said the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
