Russian central bank to discuss participation in reinsurance

Igor Zhuk, head of insurance department of Russia's central bank, has said that the bank would be ready to discuss the participation of the state in the country's reinsurance market in May, Finmarket.ru reported.

Mr. Zhuk said that until then, the bank is prepared to collect and analyze the insurance sector's proposals on probable forms of support to the reinsurance market amid the current sanctions against Russia.

The state participation is likely to be in the form of state guarantees to reinsurers and the creation of a state reinsurer.
