Insurance industry's revenues up 7.4% in 2014

Algeria's National Insurance Council said that the country's insurance industry has reported revenues of 119 billion Algerian dinars ($1.2 billion) in 2014, up 7.4% year on year, reports Asia Insurance Review citing the Algerian Times.

The nonlife insurance segment held a market share of 93% for the period, with turnover totaling DZD 110.5 billion ($1.1 billion). The nonlife segment turnover was up 7% year on year in 2014. Private sector general insurers' turnover in nonlife segment totaled DZD 25 billion for the period.
