Risk management students will attend RIMS annual conference

The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. has awarded 30 undergraduate and graduate risk management students with an Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program grant, the society announced Monday.
The students will receive airfare, hotel expenses, registration fees and a meal stipend to attend the RIMS 2015 Annual Conference & Exhibition on April 26-29 in New Orleans, RIMS said in the statement.
The Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program was launched in 1978 and recognizes outstanding students studying risk management and insurance. This year's program was funded by the Spencer Educational Foundation Inc., American International Group Inc., Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. and RIMS' New York chapter, according to the statement.
“The key to sustaining the future of risk management is to embrace the next generation of professionals and to provide them with the advantages they'll need to grow and thrive in this industry,” Mary Roth, RIMS executive director, said in the statement. “The Anita Benedetti program is a wonderful example of RIMS' commitment to rising risk professionals.”
