Jamaica to nearly double disaster cover spend

Jamaica is looking for a greater level of disaster coverage from the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility as it works with the World Bank to boost disaster resilience, reported Artemis.bm citing the Jamaica Gleaner.

The country has decided to spend $427.5 million Jamaican ($3.7 million) on CCRIF SPC disaster insurance premiums in 2015, up from JMD 215 million in 2014. The Jamaican finance ministry said that it is working with the World Bank to make the nation resilient towards climate threats and natural disasters.
