Mexican reinsurer Patria Re opens branch in Chile

Mexican reinsurer Reaseguradora Patria S.A.B. is expanding to Chile, reports BNamericas.

The new Chilean unit operates under the moniker Patria Re Servicios. "With this new office we continue the work in terms of our risk diversification plans," said Patria Re chief executive Ingrid Carlou. Meanwhile, a report has found that the Chilean reinsurance market is likely to reach 47.6 billion Chilean pesos ($77 million) by 2018.
