Forest fire burns 15,000 hectares in Argentina

Argentine officials said that a huge fire has charred nearly 15,000 hectares of forest in the country's Chubut province, reported Fox News Latino citing Agencia EFE.

The fire has prompted evacuations of several regional residents, Chubut infrastructure minister Maximiliano Lopez said.

"The weather conditions are not the most favorable, with winds from the west and northwest," added Mr. Lopez.

"We're in an extremely complicated situation, with an intense battle against the fire," Martin Buzzi, Governor of Chubut, said.
