A study by India's Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Mahindra Special Services Group has revealed that the reporting of cyber crimes in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh increased by 117% during 2012-13, Daily News & Analysis reported.
Maharashtra had the highest number, with 681 cyber-crime related cases in 2013, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 635 cases.
"What is causing more concern is that the origin of these crimes is widely based abroad in countries including China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Algeria among others," an ASSOCHAM official said.
