BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Just over 7.7 million individuals signed up for health insurance plans through the federal exchange during the first 12 weeks of the 2015 open enrollment season, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday.

Of the 7,749,375 individuals who selected exchange coverage between Nov. 15 — the start of 2015 open enrollment — and Feb. 6, just over 275,000 opted for coverage between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6.

HHS also disclosed plan selections through Feb. 6 by individuals in the 37 states in which the federal exchange is available.

Of those states, Florida had the most sign-ups for coverage over the last 12 weeks with 1,393,068, followed by Texas with 1,015,772, North Carolina with 496,330, Georgia with 468,464 and Pennsylvania with 438,488.

At the other end, North Dakota had the fewest number of individuals who selected plans with 16,426, followed by Alaska with 18,171, Wyoming with 19,070 and South Dakota with 19,098.

Earlier, HHS disclosed that nearly 2.4 million people as of Jan. 17 had selected a health care plan in the 13 states and the District of Columbia with their own exchanges.
