BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Unum promoting CFO to top job

Chattanooga, Tennessee-based benefits insurer Unum Group is promoting Chief Financial Officer Richard McKenney to CEO, effective in May.

Mr. McKenney succeeds Thomas Watjen, who will retire at the firm’s 2015 annual meeting after 12 years as CEO, Unum said Tuesday in a statement. He will remain a director on the company’s board through 2017.

Meanwhile, Unum said Mr. McKenney will become president and a member of the board of directors on April 1. He will then become CEO at the annual meeting in May.

Unum also said Jack McGarry, president and CEO of the company’s closed-block operations, will succeed Mr. McKenney as the chief financial officer on April 1.

“Unum is well-positioned to capitalize on positive trends in our markets, including strong sales momentum, accelerating premium growth and solid operating margins across the company,” Mr. McKenney said in the statement.
