BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

CHALLENGES FACING INDUSTRY: There are driver shortages, which lead to severity of claims going up with the number of hours drivers are working.

INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: I see the market starting to harden a bit. Rates are increasing. I think it's going to go that way.

FIRST INDUSTRY JOB: As an accounts receivable clerk in Milwaukee for W.R Dustin and Associates in 1980.

ADVICE: I've been in it since the 1980s. I still learn something new every day. Keep an open mind. There is always something to learn.

OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: A detective. I love those television shows. Trying to solve crimes intrigues me.

HOBBIES: I love to travel.

THING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME: Everybody thinks I have an easy-going, outgoing personality, but I have a fear of talking to crowds.

WHEN I RETIRE: Do volunteer work with little children

CAN'T-MISS TELEVISION SHOW: “Forensic Files.”

FAVORITE BOOK: I like all the John Grisham books.

BEST CITY: I love Chicago. There is just something about Chicago. I love the downtown, the atmosphere.

THOUGHTS ON SMARTPHONES: They are smarter than me, I know that. I think they are a great tool for any industry. Truthfully, I sometimes have a hard time figuring them out, but that's what teenaged kids are for.
