Bangladesh Insurance Association has said that the nonstop blockade called by the country's Bangladesh Nationalist Party lead 20-party alliance is causing daily losses worth 150 million Bangladeshi takas ($1.9 million) to the insurance sector, The Financial Express reported.
The total investment of BDT 300 billion ($3.8 billion) in the insurance sector "is now under threat due to hartal," Sheikh Kabir Hossain, president of BIA said.
Mr. Hossain urged the BNP led alliance to end the blockade in order to save the country's insurance sector.
