BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Annette Guarisco Fildes named head of ERISA Industry Committee

Annette Guarisco Fildes, a long-time government affairs attorney, joined the ERISA Industry Committee on Monday as president and CEO of the Washington-based employer benefits lobbying organization.

Previously, Ms. Fildes, 56, was executive president of public affairs for the Retail Industry Leaders Association in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to that, Ms. Fildes held senior executive positions within the public policy and government affairs groups of General Motors Co. and Honeywell International Inc., where she was involved in health care and pension issues, among other things.

“We are very pleased to have Annette join as CEO. Annette's strategic vision and thought leadership, her deep knowledge of Washington, D.C., and proven record of making a difference for employer-sponsored benefit programs made her the unanimous choice of the board,” Jeanne Denz, chairman of ERIC's board of directors, said in a statement.

Ms. Fildes succeeds Scott Macey, who has been ERIC president since 2012 and will retire. Mr. Macey held that position on an interim basis while the trade group searched for a permanent successor to Mark Ugoretz, ERIC's first president, who retired in 2012 after nearly 29 years with the organization.
