U.K.: Railway networks at risk from climate change and rising sea levels, study says

A study has concluded that around 41% of the railway network across the Westcountry region is at risk from climate change and rising sea levels, reported Western Morning News.

Many branch lines operating in valleys are exposed to weather events, the study said, adding that the Western Route has recently experienced disruptions due to bad weather events. "The vulnerability of the route to weather-induced disruption is currently very high," said an official.
