BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd. on Wednesday said it has launched Cooper Gay Uruguay to place facultative and treaty reinsurance for personal, health, property and casualty lines for insurance companies in the region.

Montevideo, Uruguay-based managing director Maria Ferrari will head up the operation, London-based reinsurance broker Cooper Gay said in a statement. She will report to Cooper Gay's regional headquarters in Miami, according to the statement.

Ms. Ferrari has more than 20 years of experience in the local and regional reinsurance markets, according to the statement.

“The launch of our Uruguayan operation will enable local clients to access the extensive global knowledge and expertise of Cooper Gay,” Ms. Ferrari said in the statement. “Fulfilling the needs and expectations of the Uruguayan market will be a challenge, but by blending international expertise with in-depth local knowledge we will provide innovative solutions for our clients.”

Montevideo-based Cooper Gay Uruguay is the company's latest endeavor to expand into Latin American markets.
