BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Forensic engineering services provider PT&C Forensics Inc., which does business as PT&C Forensic Consulting Services P.A., has acquired Northbrook, Illinois-based forensic engineering firm LWG Consulting Inc.

A spokeswoman for Atlanta-based PT&C declined to comment on the terms of the deal.

LWG provides equipment damage assessment, equipment restoration services, and accident investigation and failure analysis services to the property/casualty insurance industry and attorneys, PT&C, a unit of Atlanta-based Engle Martin & Associates Inc., said in a statement released Tuesday.

LWG’s specialization in electrical, mechanical and energy equipment losses complements PT&C’s focus on fire and explosion investigations and civil and structural engineering incidents, PT&C said.

The combined company will now do business as PT&C/LWG Forensic Consulting Services, the spokeswoman said in an email. LWG will continue operating in its current locations, and LWG President Robert Wedoff is now president of the combined business, she said. PT&C President and CEO Grover Davis is now CEO of the combined business, she said.

“LWG possesses a highly-skilled, global team of engineers and experts,” Mr. Davis said in the statement. “Their strength in niche service offerings such as equipment losses, digital forensics and restoration, paired with a corporate culture built upon delivering superior customer service, made LWG an extremely attractive partner for us.”
