Insurance technology provider Mitchell International Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Salt Lake City-based pharmacy claims manager Cogent Works L.C.
A spokeswoman declined to comment on the terms of the deal or when it’s expected to close.
Cogent Works operates AutoRx L.C. and CompToday L.C., which process and manage property/casualty pharmacy prescription claims for the automobile casualty and workers compensation markets, San Diego-based Mitchell said Tuesday in a statement. Cogent Works’ network exceeds 60,000 retail pharmacy locations in the United States, according to the statement.
The acquisition allows Mitchell to “simplify the claims process starting at the initial onset of injury by seamlessly connecting pharmacies and payers through a vast network of retail pharmacies to create better claim outcomes,” Mitchell President and CEO Alex Sun said in the statement.
The spokeswoman declined to comment on any further details of the acquisition.
