Turkey's agriculture insurance pool has paid 400 million Turkish liras ($180 million) in compensation to farmers during the January to October 2014 period, reported Yenialanya.com.

Insurance claims recorded during the period increased 382%.

The payouts included those covering crop losses from cold weather, Yenialanya.com reports.
