The New Zealand Earthquake Commission, one of the world's biggest catastrophe reinsurance buyers, has said that the insurance-linked securities and convergence trend helped it secure a reinsurance rate cut, Artemis.bm reports.
The government-owned Commission said it increased its coverage during the 2014 renewals without any rate increase.
This "partly reflects an increase in the capital available to the global reinsurance market," it said.
