Air France's third quarter profits plummet due to pilots' strike

Air France-KLM S.A. has said that the recent pilots' strike has caused the airline's third quarter operating profit to fall more than half to €247 million ($314 million) from €641 million for the same period in 2013, BBC News reported.

Air France said the strike has cost it about €416 million. Air France finance director Pierre-Francois Riolacci said the usually low fourth-quarter demand and the strike would collectively slice about €500 million from its 2014 earnings target.
