BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Robert Restrepo, the outgoing chairman of the board of governors of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, won this year's President's Award for Leadership in Advocacy.

PCI President David Sampson presented it Tuesday to Mr. Restrepo, who is president, chairman and CEO of State Auto Insurance Cos. of Columbus, Ohio.

In presenting the award, Mr. Samson said State Auto has "taken the lead with our member companies" in hosting events such as honoring political leaders.

Under Mr. Restrepo, the company has provided a "stellar example of grass roots and grass tops in advocacy," Mr. Restrepo said.

Later in the day, Mr. Sampson noted that Mr. Restrepo would be passing the gavel of the chairmanship to Terry Cavanaugh, president and CEO of Erie Insurance Group of Erie, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.

"The tone at the top makes all the difference," Mr. Sampson said of both men. He said that under Mr. Restrepo's leadership, "PCI was well-positioned" to meet the challenges facing the industry.
