An increase in seismic activity has been recorded at Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra, Indonesia, and an observation group said eruptions at the volcano are expected to continue for a long time, The Jakarta Post reports.
An observation team member told the Indonesian newspaper that the volcano, which has been erupting for the past year, continues to sporadically emit pyroclastic flows and ash. Many shops had to close recently after winds carried volcanic ash to some regions.
