Lockton acquires Scottish broker's general insurance business

Lockton Companies L.L.P. has acquired the Glasgow, Scotland, general insurance business of Griffiths & Armour, Lockton said in a statement Thursday.
Terms of the transaction, which closed on Oct. 1, were not disclosed.
Lockton said the deal to acquire Griffith & Armour’s Scottish operations builds on its investments in the Scottish corporate insurance market.
“This acquisition further strengthens Lockton’s position in Scotland as a combined business and provides extensive credentials, capabilities and resources to help our clients grow and thrive,” Gordon Duncan, head of corporate, Scotland, for Lockton, said in the statement
The deal will complement Lockton’s established professional and financial lines business in Edinburgh, Scotland, and raises the company’s Scotland headcount above 25, added Mr. Duncan.
