India: Meghalaya floods result in damage worth $325.8 million

The recent floods in Meghalaya, India, have caused widespread damage across the state and left 52 dead, the state's deputy chief minister Roytre C. Laloo said.

Mr. Laloo said roads, agriculture, houses and livestock worth around 20 billion Indian rupees ($325.8 million) have been damaged, The Indian Express reported.

The river Brahmaputra and its tributary submerged more than 1,100 villages in the state.
