Azerbaijan: Insurance premium volume up 6.6%

The total premiums collected by insurers in Azerbaijan totaled 283 million Azerbaijani manats ($361 million.) during the first eight months of 2014, a 6.6% year-on-year increase, reports Forinsurer citing Interfax.

The voluntary insurance market saw a growth of 5.4%, while the compulsory insurance market was up 9% over the period. The Azerbaijani insurance market is expected to grow 9.6% in 2014, according to an official forecast.
