Allianz integrates Fireman's Fund commercial business to boost U.S. P/C brand

The commercial property/casualty insurance business of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. will be integrated into Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, the global corporate insurance company of Munich, Germany-based Allianz S.E.
In a statement WednesdayAllianz said the move strengthens the company’s brand in the U.S. commercial property/casualty business. The move follows the 2009 integration of Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund’s marine business into AGCS.
The combined AGCS and Fireman’s Fund commercial property/casualty business is expected to total more than $3 billion in revenues, based on 2013 gross written premiums, Allianz said.
With the repositioning of Allianz Group member Fireman’s Fund’s commercial property/casualty business in the U.S. the company is considering various options to increase the scale of its personal lines business, the statement said.
