Indonesia: Financial regulator plans to limit foreign ownership in local insurers

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority plans to set limits on foreign ownership of local insurers, reported The Jakarta Post.

Foreign companies at present can own up to 80% of a local insurer. Ngalim Sawega, deputy commissioner at the regulator, said the new regulation is aimed at ensuring that the insurers are not being dominated by foreign companies.
