Japan: Magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes Tokyo

The United States Geological Survey said that a magnitude 5.6 earthquake has hit Japan's Tokyo region, shaking buildings, though there were no immediate reports of damage or a tsunami, reported Outlook.

The epicenter was traced to around 44 kilometers north-northeast of Tokyo. A spokesman at the Fukushima nuclear plant said no abnormality was witnessed at the plant.
