Thousands of people were evacuated from Mexico's Baja California as hurricane Odile hit the tourist spot, Toronto Sun reported.

Trees were ripped out and signposts were blown out by the winds, which had speeds of up to 125 miles per hour, a witness said. Tourists have been stuck in their hotel rooms as businesses and restaurants closed. Authorities have set up 164 shelters with a total capacity of 30,000 people.
