Nigeria: Crude oil theft declined 154% in seven months, says naval chief

Usman Jubrin, chief of Naval Staff in the Nigerian Navy, has said the navy's efforts have led to a more than 154% reduction in theft of crude oil since January, reported THISDAY Live.

Mr. Jubrin said theft in Nigeria has fallen from 2.6 million barrels to 0.9 million barrels during the first seven months of 2014.

"We would continue to do our best towards an appreciable level to the extent that people would not show interest in it again," said Mr. Jubrin.
