Hewlett-Packard recalls up to 6 million laptop cords over burn hazardReprints
Hewlett-Packard Co. has announced a global recall of about 6 million AC power cords, which can overheat, posing a fire and burn risk, reported ZDNet.
The cords were distributed with HP and Compaq notebooks, mini notebooks, and some docking stations sold between September 2010 and June 2012. There were 29 reports of overheating that led to two claims of minor burns and 13 claims of minor property damage, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Affected customers will receive a free replacement, said HP.
