Mercedes-Benz to recall 50,144 vehicles in China

Germany's Mercedes-Benz is set to recall 50,144 vehicles in China due to an issue with the belt drive, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.

Vibration from the engine can cause the belt drive transmission system to stop working, leading to engine damage in more serious cases, Xinhua reported.

The automaker will replace the faulty parts and upgrade the transmission system.
