BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

USI devotes month to community service

USI Insurance Services is in the midst of celebrating its 20th anniversary with “20 for 20: USI Gives Back,” which the Valhalla, New York-based brokerage describes as “a nationwide event where each of the more than 140 USI offices across the United States invests their time, talent and treasure in local community service during the 20 week days throughout the month of August.”

Headquarters employees launched the event assisting at the Food Bank for Westchester in Elmsford, New York, where the office repacked 3,500 pounds of pasta, and prepared it for distribution to 265 food-relief agencies in Westchester County.

Among other activities at USI offices across the country, the Seattle and Grass Valley, California offices sponsored and participated in the “Ride to Cure FA”--Friedreich's ataxia--a life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder; the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office stuffed backpacks with school supplies for 100 underprivileged children grades K-5 for a local elementary school in Broward County; and employees at the San Antonio office are donating all of their Fridays in August at a local food bank.

“As we celebrate our 20th year at USI, we are thankful for the clients and communities we have the privilege to serve,” said USI Chairman, President and CEO Michael J. Sicard in a statement. “We want to be not only a great place to work, but a company that can make a positive difference in the neighborhoods where we work, play and live.”
