Nigeria: Prestige pays out $5 million to Dana plane crash victims' kin

Anand Mittal, managing director of Nigeria's Prestige Assurance P.L.C., said 106 relatives of passengers who died in the Dana plane crash have received insurance payments amounting to $5.05 million, Punch reported.

Dana Air Flight 992 crashed in June 2012. The insurer has made "final payments" to 68 passengers' relatives, Mr. Mittal said. The aircraft was reinsured 70% abroad, while 10 domestic underwriters together shared local risks.
