Finland: Forest damage from winds estimated at $26.8 million

Strong winds that recently lashed Finland are estimated to have caused about €20 million ($26.8 million) worth of damage to the country's forests, YLE News reported.

The initial estimate made by the Finnish Forest Centre was 0.5 million cubic meters of timber.

Central Finland, South and North Savo and the Kainuu region suffered the most losses.
