Ukraine: Insurers paying out claims in areas hit by anti-terrorist operations

Insurers in Ukraine have paid more than 12 million Ukrainian hryvnias ($991,440) in claims for insured losses in regions affected by anti-terrorist operations, the Ukrainian Insurance Federation said.

Much more payments are expected as assessments of the losses, including those related to property, are currently in progress, Forinsurer reported.

Total insurance claims could reach UAH 300 million ($24.8 million).

A recent looting at a store belonging to retailer Metro caused goods and property losses worth more than UAH 75 million ($6.2 million), Forinsurer reports.
